In April 2023 finally it happened! The first TropiRoot workshop/28th New Phytologist Workshop: 'Coordinating and Synthesizing Tropical Forest Root Trait Studies: Understanding belowground NPP, root responses to global change, and nutrient acquisition dynamics across tropical forests' took place at the STRI on Barro Colorado Island in Panama.
We could spend some very productive and intense days discussing all facettes of root traits in tropical forests, it was very stimulating and a great opportunity to learn about many new topics. And of course it was awesome to finally meet people out of zoom in real life! What an amazing inspiring group!
On top we could even record short videos describing methods that we have been using, a very unique and fun experience - special big thanks to Laynara Lugli and Tatiana Reichert (both from TUM) for teaming up and immersing in this endeavour!
