Cassio was at a workshop on the role of Amazonian fungi

Francis Brearley (from the Manchester Metropolitan University, UK) and Camila Nobre (from the Universidade Estadual do Maranhão, Brazil) organized a workshop in Maranhão, on the role of fungi in the Amazonian bioeconomy, where Cassio (on the picture on the left) was selected as a participant (congratulations!!!).



In his doctoral thesis, Cassio is investigating fungal and bacterial communities in tropical lowland forests and their responses to elevated atmospheric CO2 within the Amazon FACE (Free-Air-Carbon-Enrichment) project.
